MySpace Hosts “Step up 3D”

MySpace Music will present “The Release” of theStep Up 3D soundtrack tonight in Los Angeles featuring performances by Flo Rida and the New Boyz. The free show, which begins at 9pm, will be held at the Avalon Hollywood and is on a 1st come first serve basis. The same day, MySpace will host free block party screenings of the film in 20 cities nationwide. “The Release” event will also feature cast members, live dance crew performances and will stream live at myspace.com/stepupmovie.

Step Up 3D will hit theaters on August 6 while the soundtrack arrives in stores and at all online retailers on July 27. About Step Up 3D New York’s intense street dancing underground comes alive in eye-popping Digital 3D in the 3rd installment of the Step Up franchise as the raw, passion-fueled culture goes global.

A tight-knit group of street dancers, including Luke (Rick Malambri) and Natalie (Sharni Vinson), team up with NYU freshman Moose (Adam Sevani), and find themselves pitted against the world’s best hip-hop dancers in a high-stakes showdown that will change their lives forever. As the 1st-ever 3D dance drama, Step Up 3D is the 1st film of its kind to be shot in 3D; a rising technical phenomenon that thus far has been reserved for high-concept, big-budget films. It’s also the 1st 3D feature film to be shot entirely in New York City. Acclaimed director Jon M. Chu, who made his feature directorial debut on 2008′s box-office hit, Step Up 2 the Streets, returns to direct.
