The Corum Rolls Royce Watch

If you were to pick one word to describe Corum, it would not be “gangster.”  But we have a feeling this find from the late 1970s is going to change that.  In 1976, Corum released the watch you see to the right.  It was indeed the grill of a Rolls Royce placed overtop a manually wound, Swiss-made Corum movement.

The watch was the brainchild of Corum founder Rene Bannwart, who was a firm believer in the power of style in wristwatches – and no one can deny this watch has style.  The Rolls Royce Grill watch was an exact replica of the grills found on the sedans of the time, and even featured a tiny hood ornament.

Wow is all i have to say. I think i’m getting this for myself. Too gorgeous of a watch. I’d be caught dead in this for real.
